Josephine Beatrice Butler, 94, departed this life on, October 23, 2021.  Mother Josephine Butler was born on, October 13, 1927, in Fulton, MO to William Robert Logan and Rosie Mae Collier.  She attended Fulton Public Schools and upon the confession of her faith in Christ Jesus was baptized at the Old Richland Baptist Church in Mecredie, Missouri.   She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Reverend Jesse L. Butler and from that union had two children.

Mother Josephine actively served alongside her husband in ministry for many years at Calvary Baptist Church in Fulton, MO, Ebenezer Baptist Church in California, MO, St. Paul Baptist Church in Wellsville, MO, and Second Baptist Church in Auxvasse, MO.  She was also very active in the Mt. Carmel District Association and the District Ministers Wives Association. She later relocated to Grandview, MO to be with her daughter and became a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Grandview, MO where she served on the Mother Board until her death.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family.  She was an avid baker and everyone in the family loved her "Green Tomato" pies, she also enjoyed singing. Mother Butler was committed to family and enjoyed helping others.

She was passionate about her grandchildren, she had a wonderful sense of humor, never met a stranger, and always said what was on her mind.

She will be lovingly remembered by one daughter, Marva Forbush of Lee's Summit, MO; one son, Kenneth Butler of Columbia, MO; two grandchildren, Ronschall Love (Antonio) of Lee's Summit, MO, and Johnathon Forbush (Montoria) of Kansas City, MO;  eight grandchildren, Nikkita Allen (Antonio) Raphael Love (Amanda), Quantianna Forbush, John Anthony Forbush, Johnathon Forbush, Jr., Jayla Forbush, Jaylon Forbush, and Jamison Forbush; four great-grandchildren, Antonio Allen, Amelia Allen, Ziare' Allen, and Octavia Love.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Nelson Logan, Edward Logan, and Robert Logan; and one sister, Jeanie Logan.
