Joyce M Hatcher

Joyce M. Hatcher, 79, passed away on November 3, 2018 at Research Hospital, in Kansas City MO. She was born on July 9, 1939 in Kansas City Kansas, to the late Harald Wynne and Minnie Mitchell.

She was proceeded into death by her parents and husband Delmar Hatcher Sr. and granddaughter Ashley Williams.

Joyce was educated in the Kansas City Kansas School district. She grew up in the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of her grandmother missionary Elzoria Mitchell. She later moved to Kansas City MO. Where she met and married Delmar Hatcher. Joyce joined Canaan Baptist Church which is now Canaan Worship Center, where she served faithfully for 58 years serving in the choir, the Golden Saints, The Mission and The Financial Secretary up until her health started to fail. Joyce worked at Superior Toy Factory, Cottage Care and Canaan Worship Center.

Everyone loved her, and she was called mom by many and she always had an open-door policy.

She leaves behind her children Patricia (Lewis) of Beliot, Wisconsin, Helen Shipp of KCMO, Michael Hatcher of Illinois, Amanda Higgins of KCMO, Martez Smith of KCMO, Susan Williams of KCMO, Sherry Hatcher of Raytown, MO, LaVetta Hatcher – Oakes (James) of Raytown, MO, Delmar Hatcher (Michelle) of KCMO, Joyce Hatcher of KCMO, 35 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, 1 sister; Minola Johndrow and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
