Kacy Lynn Parker, 59, passed on June 30, 2026, at the Kansas City Hospice House, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on November 22, 1966, to the union of S.L. Elbert Jr. and Betty Sue (Estill) Elbert. Kacy accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at Sunrise Baptist Church. She continued her faith journey while faithfully serving at Life Changers Christian Center. Kacy graduated high school from Bishop Hogan in Kansas City, Missouri. After high school she attended UMKC in Kansas City, Missouri where she received a Master's Degree in Education, and a Specialist degree. She was an educator for 40 plus years. She began at Hartman Elementary School as a teacher and finished as a principal for Hickman Mills School District at the wonderful school of Freda Markley Early Childhood Center. Kacy, being a breast cancer survivor, had the opportunity to model for Bra Couture KC and championed/hosted several breast cancer events. Her favorite color was purple; her favorite holiday was Christmas, and her hobbies were shopping and traveling… Kacy had a denim jacket for every occasion. Kacy shared a beautiful love story with her beloved husband, Derrick LaMell Parker, her high school sweetheart whom she met in the ninth grade. Together for 44 years and married for 35 years, they built a beautiful life together with their two children, Derreon Parker and Aerreon Parker. Kacy’s family was her pride and joy. Kacy’s greatest legacy was in the countless lives she impacted. She lived her life with unwavering faith in God. She loved deeply, wholeheartedly, and without condition. Whether as an educator, a leader, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a daughter, a sister, or a friend, she gave her whole heart to every person God placed in her path. Her beautiful smile could brighten any room, and her gentle spirit brought comfort, encouragement, and hope to so many. Though she will be deeply missed, her faith, love, and legacy will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She was a fierce God-fearing woman, wife, mother, grandmother who had crazy faith in God. She was preceded in death by her parents, S.L. Elbert Jr. and Betty Sue Elbert; and a sister-in-love, Leanne Estelle. Kacy is survived by: her husband, Derrick Parker; her son, Derreon Parker (N'Zinga); her daughter, Aerreon Parker; her grandchildren; her brother, Kevin Elbert (Kathy); her mother-in-love, Carolyn Parker; father-in-love, Samuel Parker (Lynn); five brothers-in-love: Marcus Parker (Lynn), Garren Henderson, Cyrus Johnson (Jackie), Tyronne Parker, Marko Hughes (Diane); a sister-in-love, Kimberly Green (Rodney); and a host of other loving family and friends.
