Kapelle, Wyatt Sr. was born March 20, 1936, to the union of Ish and Marie Wyatt. He attended school in the Kansas City Missouri School District and graduated from R.T. Coles, School of Mechanics. During his high school years, he enjoyed running track, and playing football.
Kapelle was united in marriage with Margaret Jackson. To this union was born a son, Kapelle Wyatt Jr. and a daughter, Carman Marie Wyatt. Margaret preceded him in death.

He also enjoyed going to a good play or concert, traveling, and going out to dinner. He loved his family to the fullest with unconditional love. He enjoyed every special moment spent with them and looked forward to the family dinner every Sunday.
Kapelle was a very soft-spoken man. There was no one that he felt he could not befriend, nor was there a project that he felt he could not do. His Motto was, “If it’s hard, I can do it right away, if it’s impossible, it may take me a while”.
Kapelle was lifelong member of Paseo Baptist Church, Kapelle was devoted to the Lord and to Paseo. He demonstrated his love and faithfulness, through serving as a Deacon; on the Usher Board; in the Men’s Ministry and working with New Members Class. He was always available for whatever work that might have needed to be done around the church. He did what he could to enhance the appearance of the condition of the church.
Kapelle had a spiritual gift of helping. Until his passing he always would say, “I don’t need help, I’m used to helping others, and if you need anything done don’t hesitate to ask me. I’ll try to get it done; don't forget I was a firemen”. He had another funny saying that we will truly miss, “Fungus among us, and at ease disease.” He had a fantastic humor.
