Listen to Obituary

Sister Karen Redmond was born on February 1, 1964 to the late Ms. Lillian Randle of Kansas City, Kansas. She was a twin of ten children. Karen graduated from the Kansas City, KS school district and attended college shortly thereafter.  Karen and Roy Redmond were married in April of 1990 and to their union they had one daughter.

She was employed as a Behavioral Specialist at the Nova Center for over 20 years where she worked until her demise.  Karen was a faithful mother and friend to her daughter whom she loved unconditionally.  She was a lover of all children and served as grandmother to so many.  When asked who her best friend was, the response was “God.”  She was very well acquainted with Jesus and trusted him as she journeyed through this life. Karen and her family joined the Greater Bethel M.B. Church family in 2009.  Sis. Redmond served as a faithful member of the Adult Choir, Youth Ministry, and Culinary Team until the Lord called her home. She was also  a member of the Usher Ministry for a moment.  She was extremely dependable and committed. She was very easy going and would willingly do whatever she could do to help. Her presence will be greatly missed by many.

Sister Karen Redmond departed this life on November 3, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Deacon Roy Redmond; twin sister, Sharon Randle; sister, Gloria Williams-McBride; and brother, Ray Williams.
