Kelsean Shamar Harvey was born on July 7, 1998 in Kansas City, Missouri to Kenya Sharmayne Harvey. He attended Lee’s Summit North High School where he played soccer during his freshman year. He also played club soccer with the Blackfire Fútbol Club (formerly known as East Side Fútbol Club). Kelsean was very athletic and enjoyed football and basketball as well as soccer. In his spare time, he played FIFA on XBOX.
Kelsean loved spending time with his friends and was thought of as the “life of the party”. He had a bright smile for everyone and a carefree, vibrant personality that extended to his clothing choices. He loved wearing bright colors and fun fashions, especially super skinny jeans and pants. He was passionate about his hair and hairbrush. Friends would often see him taking selfies for Instagram, Facebook, and SnapChat. He seemed to take 50 photos before selecting just the right one to post online!
As an adolescent, Kelsean attended Lee’s Summit Baptist Temple. In the sixth grade he became interested in skateboarding and continued the hobby beyond high school. He even skateboarded to one of his first jobs at Jack In The Box. He also worked at other restaurants, including Taco Bell and Red Robbin. His favorite foods were fried chicken and french fries and he loved eating sunflower seeds.
Kelsean was looking forward to joining the military and considering playing soccer at Arizona State University. He hoped to one day become a firefighter. He lived in Lee’s Summit his entire life and passed away on July 7, 2018. Kelsean was proceeded in death by his grandparents James C. Harvey, Sr. (Betty), uncles Frank Miller, Rev. Romie Miller, Cleo Miller, Melvin Miller, Walter Miller, Lewis Miller, John Robert Harvey, Rchard Harvey, and aunt Linda J. Friday.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His mother Kenya Harvey; one brother Dasean Ransburg; grandmother Vera Harvey; two grandfathers Alfred Boyd, Sr. and Buster Davis; three uncles Marquon Davis, Alfred Ledale Boyd (Ebonee), and Lewis Brown; aunt DeAndr Letey; three great uncles Terry Harvey (Denise), James C. Harvey, Jr. (Ruby), and Rudolph Harvey; two great aunts Davetta Sawyer (Tom) and Theresa Harvey; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and close friends.
