In Loving Memory
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Kenneth Wayne Hughlon, age 76, who transitioned to eternal glory on Monday, October 13, 2025, at St. Lukes Hospice House.
Born on August 4, 1949, in Kansas City, MO to Wanda Mae Hughlon Hammons. Kenneth lived a life of adventure filled with warmth, laughter, and love. He was a long-time member of Memorial Baptist Church. Kenneth graduated from Paseo High School in 1967 and immediately after was drafted to the United States Army to fight in the Vietnam War. After the war he stayed in the military, joining the Airforce and honorably retired in 1974. He later attended Metropolitan Community Colleges and obtained an Associate's degree in Social Science. He became an honored veteran, was well educated, retiring from employment at the Kansas City VA Medical Center, and was a landlord of properties in the Kansas City, Missouri area.
Known for watching WWF Wrestling, westerns, or listening to the Blues, Kenneth cherished moments spent with family and friends. Being a provider to all in need and sharing his love through his infectious humor, his kindness and joyful spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving mother and stepfather, Wanda Mae and Leo Hammons, grandmother and grandfather, Pasadena and Willie Hughlon, sisters, Jayneen Hammons and Deborah Hammons.
Left to cherish Kenneth's memory: one son, Dr. Kenneth Wayne Hughlon II; stepdaughter Alexis Mosby from former wife, Cynthia McConnell (Reggie).
His current loving wife, Kim Harris Hughlon; stepsons: Tyron Sanders and Kevin Knight Jr.; stepdaughter, LaQuinda Stomon and best friend, D’Wayne Taylor.
He also leaves four sisters: Renita Boyd (Darnell), Loretta Washington, Sandra Mann and Natasha Kennedy (Brian); three brothers: Maurice Hammons (Trina), Ronald Hammons and Dimitrious Bryant, and a host of beloved cousins, extended family, and friends.
Kenneth's memory will forever be held dear in the hearts of his loved ones. May he rest peacefully.
