Listen to Obituary

Kenneth W. Brown, age 54, departed this life on October 3, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City Missouri. He was born July 20, 1968, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to the union of Henry H. Brown and Loretta Brown. Kenneth grew up in the Kansas City metro area, attending and graduating from Southeast High School. After high school Mr. Brown became a member of the Masons Lodge and joined the labor workforce. Attaining work with Fuji True Color as a Processor for two and a half years, then shortly after in January of 2002, Kenneth would go onto become a long-time employee for the City of Kansas City Missouri. He began his career in the Wastewater Preventive Maintenance Division as a Field Maintenance Technician. Providing services to the community that are often overlooked and underappreciated. Cleaning miles of the city's sewer and storm water infrastructure while interacting with the citizens he serviced. He would also achieve a position with the Public Works Division as a Land Surveyor before finally becoming a Engineer Technician with Water Services Laboratory Division.  Kenneth Brown was a hard worker and well known as a connoisseur of jazz music. Our brother was a example unto others of how to persevere in difficult times while laughing and keeping a smile. Most of all, Mr. Brown spoke fondly of his love for his family and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Henry H. Brown.

Kenneth W. Brown is survived by his beloved mother Loretta Brown, a greatly beloved son Kenneth Brown Jr., Siblings Denice Diggs and Michael Brown, a host of nieces and nephews, and his extended family the Eason's and Godfrey's. He will be missed greatly. Thank you to all who have shown support to the family in their time of grief.
