Keyanna B. R. Saunders

Keyanna Saunders, 19, passed away on June 13, 2024, at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. She was born on March 1, 2005, in Kansas City, MO. to Kenyan Saunders and Alisha Thomas.

She grew up in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, MO. After high school she attended Well Springs School of Health in Kansas City, MO. where she was working on receiving her CMA certification.

Keyanna was a very strong young lady. She was fighting for her life at the early age of 16, when she was diagnosed with end stage renal disease (ESRD). Although she was sick, she was courageous. She had a smile that would light up the room. She was loved by many with her personality, you would not have known she was sick.

Keyanna was the type of person that would help anyone that needed her help.

What I would like everyone to know about Keyanna is that she was strong, intelligent, lovable, meek, and kind. She stole everyone’s heart with her smile. She was definitely a Daddy’s Girl.

She was preceded in death by her great grandmother Emma Jean Craddock; great grandfather Leonard “Leo” Williams; grandmother Bernice Saunders; great grandfather Quincy McGee Sr.; grandfather Calvin Saunders; uncle Clarence Mulkey; aunt Shyrel “Tanya” Thomas; and cousins Matthew “JoJo” Thierry and Rah’Zion Woods.

She is survived by: mother Alisha Thomas (Dion); father Kenyan Saunders; sister Tiarra Quarles (Jerron); brother “B” Harvey (Jory); nephew Brazen Mahone; great grandmother Hattie; grandmother France Cooks; grandfather Alphonso Thomas; aunts: Linda, Franisha (Robert), Monice, and Trina; uncles: Anthony W, Anthony T, and Leonard; godfather Anthony Watts; godmother Angela Bowman; best friend Dmaya Jones, and a host of other relatives and friends.
