Kimberly White-Washington, 63, departed this life on January 29, 2025, at her home in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on January 28, 1962, in Los Angeles, California to Charles William White and Earline Gillum.
She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Lincoln Preparatory Academy. After high school, Kim attended Longview Community College in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, where she received an Associate degree in Business.
Kimberly worked for the Jackson County Courthouse as a supervisor for the Collections Department for 21 years. She loved reading mystery novels and watching old movies on television.
She married Dennis Washington on August 9, 2003. They were happily married for 21 years.
Kim is preceded in death by her father, Charles W. White, brother, Tyrone Gillum, maternal grandparents, Earl and Gertrude Gillum, paternal grandmother, Odie White, and her uncle, Eddie Haney.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Washington, son, Sylvester White, stepsons, Mikilos Guinn, and Dermon Washington, mother, Earline Bentley, sisters, Robin Bentley and Trilby Gillum, brother-in-law, Dr. Greg Hill, sister-in-law, Augustine Burns, aunts, Anna Bibbs, Anita Haney, Cheryl Looney, uncle, Ronald Gillum, cousins, Stacey Brown (Jackie), and Donna Browning, her longtime friend, Charnice Jackson, and a host of family and friends.
