Kirk Michael Whittaker, age 34, aka, Black Blunt, Shabba, Teflon, or DJ, of 9409 Stark Ave, Kansas City, MO was snatched away from us by the cruel hands of death on March 14, 2022.
Kirk was born on January 8, 1988, in Kingston, Jamaica to Grace Deer and Owen Whittaker. Kirk was the last of 6 children: 4 girls and 2 boys.
At the age of 14, he attended Kingston Technical High School in Kingston, Jamaica where he excelled in track and field. In 2006, at the age of 18, he migrated to the United States on an athletic scholarship. Kirk first lived in Houston, Tx, and after living there for 1 year he moved to Kansas City, MO where he spent most of his adult life.
Kirk enjoyed cooking, soccer, watching basketball, and hanging out with friends and family. But his real passion was to write music that he could sing and DJ to (and he did that every chance he got).
He was a talented young man, and his greatest ambition was to become a renown entertainer.
Kirk was also passionate towards the female gender, and he loved and showed love to all of them. Subsequently, he was fortunate to have been blessed with 4 beautiful loving and kind sisters. He was also blessed to have had his one and only child, his beautiful daughter, Zaria Marie Whittaker.
Kirk had unconditional love for everyone he met. He is survived by his mother Grace Deer of Houston, TX; wife, Cherry Whittaker; sisters, and their spouses; 7 nieces; 5 nephews; and his best friend and partner, his dog, Boasey.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Winston McKenzie; and his father, Owen Whittaker.
