Lamar Montez Sharp

Lamar Sharp was born on April 15, 1986 in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Research Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his father, Christopher Sharp, paternal great grandmother. Madlyne Brown, maternal brother, Lorenzo Whitley, maternal grandparents, Lovie Cobbins (Robert), Emma Barner, and Eugene Williams Sr.

Lamar was educated in Kansas City’s Public Schools. He graduated in 2004 from Don Bosco Charter High School in Kansas City, Missouri. He later attended Navarro College in Corsicana, TX for general studies and UTI in Houston, TX for automotive studies. Lamar was employed by VVF as a Machine Operator. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age at New Vision Christian Church under the leadership of Dr. Kevin L. Harris Sr.

Lamar lived a life that he devoted unselfishly to his family and friends. He loved spending time and taking care of his daughter, whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed barbequing, traveling, and working on cars. He loved showering his family with jewelry from Kay’s and gifts.

Cherishing his memory and celebrating his life are: his daughter, Alana Sharp of Kansas City, KS; his mother, Charlotte Barner of Grand Rapids, MI; special mom, Danita Whitley of KCMO; step mother, Sonya Sharp of Savannah, TX; paternal grandparents, Patricia Tolson and Chester Sharp of KCMO; maternal grandparents, Cordelia Whitley of KCMO and Betty Williams of South Bend, IN; three brothers, Donte Moore, Marlon Williams and Desmond Washington of KCMO; six sisters, Iesha Hill, Brionna (William) Thomas, Courtney Jeffrey, Lovie Barner, Daniesha Washington and Danyale Flowers of KCMO; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
