Laresha I'Shawn Smith

Laresha I. Smith better known as "Ree" departed her earthly home on December 26, 2016. She was born on January 12, 1987 to Letania R. Smith and Shaun Rainey in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the eldest of two children. Laresha confessed her faith at an early age at Greater Jerusa- lem In Kansas City, Kansas. Laresha attended school in the Kansas City Kansas School District graduating early from F. L. Schlagle High in 2004. She furthered her education by attending Kansas State University. Due to her excelling in school she was a member of the National Honor Society, Who's Who, the Peer Helpers and she graduated early. She participated in track and basketball. She had a bold sense of fashion and was very sure of herself. She was a true "DIVA". Her style was trendy and she always looked her best when stepping out. When Laresha walked into a room she owned it with her overwhelming confidence. She loved shopping and make-up. Because of her love for fashion she ventured out and started her own business "NeOnes Closet" which is a online business. She was the owner of this online store for over 5 years.. She was currently employed with Victoria Secrets.Laresha was also an excellent cook and during her college days she made sure she and her friends ate good. She was always concerned about women taking care of themselves and made sure her friends and families hair was braided and well groomed. In 2007, she gave birth to her first love her baby girl Jaedah whom she loved dearly. Three years later the key to her heart was born her baby boy Kyrin whom she admired. She was so proud of her children and loved caring for their every need. Her life as a mother was complete with her children. She was a caring and loving mother that thought the world of Jaedah and Kyrin and there was nothing she wouldn't do to make sure they were happy. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Hazel Lee Smith and paternal grandfather, James Rainey . Laresha departed this earthly life on December 26, 2016. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Jaedah R. Ellis; one son, Kyrin S. Smith, both of Kansas City, KS; her beloved mother, Letania R. Smith of Kansas City, KS; her father, Shaun (Shana)Rainey of Kansas City, KS; her grandfather, Sylvester (Rhonda) Smith, Sr.; her grandmother, Minnie Rainey; her sisters, I'Yona Hendrix and Shea Rainey; her brothers, Shaun Rainey, Jr. and Shane Rainey; her uncles, Sylvester (Anna) Smith, Jr., Daryl (Tanya) Smith and Syvel Smith, all of Kansas City, KS; her cousins, Sylvia (Ivan) Hall of Missouri, Marissa Smith, Savanna Smith, Ivan Hall, Jr., Navi Hall, Ava Quiozers and Steven Dukes; her God Son, Robert Collins, Jr.; her God Mother, Vickie Payne; her God brothers, Darryl and David Payne; her God sister, Roslynn Payne; her special friends, Kelvin Smith and Jonathan Ellis; her very special friend, Charles "Boo" Henderson and a host of other relatives and friends.
