Lashonda Catrice Collins

Ms. LaShonda Catrice Collins, 51, was born on November 13, 1973, in Kansas City, Missouri, through the union of Ella Louise Collins and Harold Eugene Ellison.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ella Louise Collins and Harold Eugene Ellison, and grandparents Charlesetta and Walter Collins, Sr., and Albert and Mildred Washington, all of Kansas City, Missouri.

LaShonda attended Paseo High School and later acquired her GED. She spent more than 25 years working for the State of Missouri, where her hard work ethic won her respect and recognition.

Lashonda, or “Shon,” as she was called by her family and friends, enjoyed being with her. She was very close to her Aunt Rhonda “Sue” and Uncle Julius “Ray” Smith.

She was an avid reader, enjoying literature and writing.

God called LaShonda home on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. She passed at Research Medical Center after falling ill at home for a short time.

LaShonda leaves to cherish her memory and legacy her son, Trevon Jermaine Mattic, and daughter, Shaleea Cameron Banks; her brother Harold Eugene Ellison, Jr.; matriarch of the family, Myrtle Ellison; Aunt Rhonda Smith and Uncle Ray Smith; Aunt Jackie Collins; good friend Wendell Mattic; and a host of cousins and friends.
