Laura B. Woods

Laura Woods, a beloved member of our family, peacefully passed away on December 30th, 2023, in Kansas City, MO. Born on April 20th, 1942, in Koran, Louisiana, Laura was the daughter of the late Eugene and Hattie Williams. On March 27th, 1968, she was joined in marriage to Johnnie Woods, and together they raised two children, Patricia Williams and Johnnie L. Williams. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three siblings: I.C. Williams, Minnie Gillard, and Pearline Cleveland.

Laura leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom, cherished by her children: Patricia Williams and Johnnie Williams. She will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren: Edward Johnson (Tragil), Marcus Williams, Sierra Williams, and Breia Reid (Horace). Additionally, Laura was blessed with ten great-grandchildren: Prince Johnson, Victoria Williams, Areyonna Johnson, Marcus Williams Jr., Baeliey Reid, Samayah Brown, Aubrie McAlester, Cyncere McAlester, Heaven McAlester, and Harmony McAlester.

She is survived by her two siblings, Lessie Williams and Lee Arthur Williams Sr. Her nieces and nephews held a very special place in her heart to include Shelia Johnson, Henry Johnson Jr., (Paula), Terri Williams, Janet Lars, Alicia Williams (Carl), Sharon Ladell (Elder Alford Sr), Gartha Rusley (Jim), Lee Arthur Williams Jr., Derrick Williams, Hattie James (Thee), Jenny Gladney, Alvin Cleveland (Shirley), Randy Cleveland, Johnny Cleveland (Euradale). She was proceeded in death by nieces and nephews Elder Joe Cleveland, Sidney Cleveland, Linda Kay, Eric Williams, and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends that will forever hold her in high esteem.
