LaVance Ellis, Sr., 48, was born June 21, 1971, in Kansas City, Missouri to Sharon Ellis and Carlos Biggs. He is preceded in death by: grandparents, Mary and Strawder Ellis; aunts, Erma Wilson, Ruth Jackson and Ethel Brown; Uncles, DeVance Ellis, Joseph Jackson, Eddie Jackson, Andrew Jackson, and Tom Jackson; cousin Gwendolyn Gaines; and a host of other family members.
LaVance grew up in a strong family environment. LaVance accepted Christ at an early age. He was enrolled in the Kansas City, Missouri School District. He graduated from East High School on June 2, 1989.
LaVance or “V” as most affectionately called him loved spending time with his mother, kids, grandkids and family. He had a very special relationship with his mother. Spending time with her for hours on the daily making jokes, heart filled conversations and lots of love and laughter. He was the greatest son, father, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to everyone he touched. He would help anyone. If you needed anything LaVance was the person to call. His actions were always kind. A generous hand and active mind. Always anxious to please, he was a loving person and a faithful friend. He will truly be missed by his family and loved ones.
He leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Sharon Ellis; father, Carlos Biggs; two daughters, his baby girl Talisha Ellis and his princess Latasha Ellis; one son, LaVance Ellis Jr.; two grandchildren, Tyson Barbosa,and Mylei Dale; two sisters, LaTisha Ellis, and Renee Ausler; three brothers, Charles “Ed” Ellis, Phillip Ellis, and Carlos Ausler; the mothers of his children, Terri Crawford, and Tisha Hunter; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
