Lavelle Hoard was born on January 12, 1952 in Eudora Arkansas to Dorothy Mae Joiner and L.B. Hoard. Lavelle accepted Christ at age 12, and lived a life that represented GOD's love. He was a strong independent man of faith and wisdom. His parents, one daughter, Ashley Hoard, one sister Norma Jean Childs, and one brother Rene Clyde Lewis Jr., preceded him in death. Lavelle attended G.C. John's High School and graduated from the University of Arkansas Monticello in 1974. He worked for W.W. Grainger 39 years as a sales representative. He was a member at Cleveland Avenue Baptist Church for more than 20 years, where he served as a Men's Sunday school teacher. In addition, Lavelle spent many Saturday mornings volunteering at local nursing homes praying, teaching, feeding residents, serving meals, and visiting with residents. He enjoyed reading, watching football, exercising, cooking, and visiting with family and friends.
Lavelle met the love of his life, Denita Williams in 1999. On November 19, 2004, they were married and joined in union. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Denita Hoard; five children: Jermaine Hoard (Erica), Orlando Williams (Olivia), Gwendolyn Huggins (DeAngelo), Kendra Woodruff, Tanyaneeka Bresette; six sisters: Jerry Murphy (Verla), Eloise Lewis, Helen Scott (Robert), Angela Pride (Dan Sr.), DeCarlia Smith (Hearsie); Shonna Joiner, and like a sister Marie Kincade (Donald), one brother Carneal Feazeal. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
