Sis. Lee Anna Jones, 95, who passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, surrounded by her family.  Her spirit will always live on in our hearts.

Lee Anna was born February 28, 1930, to Ernest Baskins and Evelyn Christian Baskins in Pittsburgh, PA.  She graduated from Allegheny High School, Pittsburgh, PA in 1946.  Lee Anna married our father, Mr. Saul Jones, Jr., in 1954.  To this union eight children were born.

Lee Anna proudly served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1954.  Following her military service, she began a long-dedicated career as a government employee.  First the Army Hometown News Center, then transferring to General Services Administration on Bannister Road, where she served as a Media Clerk for the Armed Services until her retirement in 1995.

Lee Anna joined Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Church in 1973 under the leadership of Rev. Albert Colbert, proceeding on with Rev. Joseph Fletcher.  Sis. Jones was a part of numerous auxiliaries.  The Ladies Chorus, Usher Board #2 and The Mission.  Also, a member of the NAACP and The Urban League Guild.

Lee Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Saul Jones, Jr., mother and father, Ernest and Evelyn Baskins; two sisters, Jesse Clowney and Ernestine Champlain; three children: two sons, Carl Jones and Carnel Jones, one daughter, Carol Jones, and grandson, Lee Anthony McAdoo.

Sis. Lee Anna Jones leaves to cherish her loving memories: five children; two sons, Carter Lee Jones, Kansas City, MO and Saul Jones III, Denver, CO, three daughters: Betty Jo Jones, Minnesota, Peggy Jones James and Carla Marie McAdoo (Jimmy McAdoo, Jr.), both of Kansas City, MO.  Her only and favorite cousin, Donald Singleton, Pittsburgh, PA; one daughter in law, Tanja Hicks, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
