Dr. Lee A. Richardson, Jr., 84, of Kansas City, MO, passed away February 19, 2025. Lee was born to Lee A. Richardson, Sr. and Mattie C. Keels in Kansas City, KS on May 02, 1940.

He graduated from Central High School, in Kansas City, MO in May 1958, and then enlisted in the United States Army, in June of 1958. He gained the rank of SP4 (Specialist Fourth Class). Upon completion of his military service, Lee returned to Kansas City.

From Kansas City, he found himself in New Orleans attending Dillard University. After one year, he returned home to Kansas City, MO to pursue his B.A. degree in Social Studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

In 1961, Lee A. Richardson, Jr. married Gladys Lee and from this union, two children, Robin K. Richardson (1964) and Lee A. Richardson, III. (1969) were born.

As a lifelong learner, he furthered his knowledge and education with a degree in chiropractic medicine. In 1975, he opened his practice which spanned over thirty years.

Lee loved the game of golf and dedicated himself to the sport. He was a founding member of the Kansas City Swingers Golf Association. He loved fishing and telling all types of jokes.  He loved to read and would share his knowledge with family and friends. He would talk for hours. He was also the local 1952 Duncan Yo-Yo champion and the first African American bailiff for Judge Lewis W. Clymer.

Dr. Lee A. Richardson, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Julia Ann Richardson, and his wife Gladys L. Richardson. He is survived by his children, Robin and Lee, III., nieces, nephews and cherished cousins in Missouri, Michigan, and California.

He dedicated his life to his family and friends. He will be missed by his family who loved him deeply.
