Born on Jan. 12, 1963 in Charleston Mississippi to Dorothy Mae and Claude Earl Covington, LeeVerlie Covington was the apple of her parents eye. She was a friend to many but her best friend and only sibling, John Covington were as thick and thieves and always had each other’s backs. Lee, PeeWee, had a family full of love with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lee grew up in a home full of love with her mother and big brother. It was here that she discovered she had a voice of an angel, while singing and dancing for hours on ends with her brother. In this home, she learned how to love unconditionally and to be patient. Those traits she carried throughout her life and used with her own children, with whom she taught to be kind and show love to all.
Lee married and started a family of her own in Kansas City, MO after receiving her certificate from a school of nursing in St. Louis, MO. A proud parent of four daughters, Aquila, Tynetta, Corinna, and Jumoke, she worked hard each day to make her family proud. She was a committed certified medication technician who loved what she did. She was a picture-perfect mother and daughter.
Lee was a long devoted member of the Nation of Islam where she remained a servant until her untimely passing. Here she again learned to live a life of kindness and love for all, reminding her of all the teachings of her childhood.
Lee leaves to cherish beautiful memories:
Her beautiful mother, Dorothy Mae, brother, John Spencer, sister Ruby , grandchildren Dae’Von, Ramal, Khaliah, Rhashad, Ry’Lee and Kevaya, her four daughter plus her extra special fifth daughter in love, Rochelle, two uncles, one aunt, four nieces, one nephew and a host of cousins and friends.
