Lenon Frederick Jones

Lenon Frederick Jones was (Fred), was born February 26, 1940, in Kansas City, MO. He attended Booker T. Washington elementary school and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958. He graduated second in his class. Fred received an associated degree from Metropolitan Junior College. He continued his education taking many on-line courses and other studies. He married Willa Mae Sayers on June 16,1963. To this union, their son, Stephen Frederick Jones, was born February 24, 1969. Fred was employed by Kansas City Power & Light for 34 years. He retired from there in 2001. Fred & Willa were avid bowlers. They bowled in several leagues. Fred also loved to play dominoes and bid whist. Fred & Willa were members of Graceway Church for 46 years, joining in 1977.

Fred had an outgoing personality and was quite  talker. He had a very distinguished voice. He went out of his way to help whenever needed. He helped many friends and family with their light bills. Fred was loved very much by all his family and friends and will greatly be missed. Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Dorance Magdalen Bowman, his brother, Ronald Alexander Bowman, his stepfather Troy Bowman.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 60 years, Willa Mae Jones, his son, Stephen Frederick Jones (and wife Leslie), of Bloomington, MN, his sister, Frances Ann Jones of KC. two grandchildren, Micala Burns of Portland, OR, and Hannah Jones of Bloomington, MN., 5 aunts, 1 uncle, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Fred departed this life on November 21, 2023. His departure leaves a void in our family, but we know where he is. "Absent from the body, present with The Lord."
