Lillian F. Watson

Lillian Frances Watson, (age) was born February 25, 1938 to the union of Fannie and James Watson.

Frances attended Kansas City, Kansas public schools: Attuck’s, Northeast and graduating from Sumner High School in 1956. After high school, she went on to graduate from Madam C.J. Walker School of Cosmetology in 1962. She later graduated from St. Luke’s School of Practical Nursing in 1972. Frances worked at St. Luke’s Hospital for 30 years until her retirement in 2002. After retiring, she worked part time at Penn Valley Community College School of Nursing as an Administrative Assistant for 15 years.

Frances accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She united with the Mount Vernon Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. E.A. Johnson in 1969 and currently Rev. Donald W. Givens. As a very active member, she participated in the Mass Choir, Jr. Mission, First Aide, Senior Usher Board, Women to Women Ministry and Sewing Ministry. She united with Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church May 15, 2022 under the leadership of Pastor Michael Black.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Sisters: Wanda Watson Johnson City, TN, Geraldine Long, Las Vegas, NV, Melva Perry, Shawnee, KS and Phyllis Arnold, Kansas City, KS; brother, Ronald Watson, Kansas City, KS; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
