Linda Kay Everette, 73, passed away on June 8, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 17, 1953, in Louisiana, Missouri, to Carl Douglas Jr. and Rosana Charlene (Bell) Douglas.
Linda grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and was educated in the Kansas City Public School District, graduating from Central High School. She began working for The University of Kansas Health System, where she worked for 20 years, until her retirement in 2011. She also devoted her time and efforts to Lincoln University Cooperative Extension – Kansas City Urban Impact Center.
On December 31, 1993, in Kansas City, Missouri, Linda was blessed to marry the love of her life, Robert Lee Everette Sr. They were happily married for 33 years.
Linda was a loving wife, a proud mother and grandmother, a cherished sister, a sweet aunt, a fun cousin, and a loyal friend.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her sons, Anthony M. Johnson and Kenneth J. Johnson, and her siblings: Charles J. Douglas, George R. Douglas, Sandra L. Byrd, Danny Ray Douglas and Ora B. Douglas.
Linda leaves to cherish her precious memories: her devoted husband, Robert Lee Everette Sr.; her siblings: Ronnie Douglas (Donna), Gearl Nash, Pamela Douglas and Cathy Douglas; her bonus sons: Carlos Madden, Robert A. Everette, Rondell Clark and Darrell Everette; several bonus grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other dear family and friends.
