Linda Jacks-Story, affectionately known as "tata-bug", was born on April 16, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri to Marie Locke and Odis Jacks. She graduated from Lincoln High school in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E Church of Kansas City, MO, where she gave her life to Jesus Christ and baptized in 1984. Linda was united in marriage to Lonnie Story in August 1968. To this union a son was born, Lamar T, Jacks-Story. The marriage was later dissolved. She later had two daughters, Eraina T. Buie and Michelle L. Kendrick. Linda was employed with the housing authority of Kansas City for several years. She also worked as a receptionist for H&R Block and Perfection Industrial Distributors.

Linda was always the life of the party and never knew a stranger. She had nicknames for everybody! She enjoyed playing music while cleaning. One of her favorites was "Flowers" by The Emotions. Linda had a funny sense of humor and was notorious for saying "Now I got to cut ya!" Linda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as family was very important to her.

Linda was called to be with our Lord and Savior on February 25, 2019. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Brothers, Gene A. Maltbia and Kermit D. Jacks Sr. One sister, Sandra A. Roath, and one granddaughter, Lakiayh Woods. She leaves to cherish precious memories of her with her significant other, Howard Whitmill-Fields of 23 years. Her surviving sister, Mary C. Jones (Willie) of Kansas City, KS, Gary D. Maltbia (Anita) of Kansas City, MO and Evelyn M. Jacks of Los Angeles, California. Son and daughters, Lamar T. Jacks-Story, Eraina T. Buie (Gene) and Michelle L. Kendrick. She also leaves behind 21 grand-children and a host of other family members and friends.
