Listen to Obituary

Lonnae was born August 16, 1997, In Kansas City, Missouri to her parents David H. Dawson and Marie A. Dawson Lonnae was the sixth child of seven. Lonnae received her wings on February 16, 2019 to go home and be with the Lord. As a baby Lonnae was full of life. She could play in her crib for hours with no one around. Laughing and playing by herself. During her youth years she had many friends and enjoyed playing with her brothers and sisters. In middle school Lonnae found a love for Jazz Band and Choir. She tried shot put one year and found she didn’t like the heat. Once in high school Lonnae followed her love for music and joined marching band and jazz band. She continued with marching band all four years of High school. Lonnae graduated from Raypec High School in 2016. After graduating Lonnae went on to attend Northwest Missouri State University as a junior working towards a psychology degree. While attending Northwest Lonnae joined various organizations such as Sigma Society she was an RA for the Dieterich Hall. Lonnae spent her summers working with the Upward Bound program offered by Northwest. Lonnae loved her school, friends and staff members she worked hard with. Lonnae had a passion for music she played the Trumpet and taught herself how to play the guitar (acoustic and electric) as well as the Ukulele and could even play a few keys on the piano. Any chance she received she designated herself as the DJ in the car so everyone could be tortured by the music she loved such as Hamilton, any boy band music and the 80’s rock band like Queens and Journey to name a few. Lonnae was preceded in death by her grandmother Barbara Moore and grandfather Daniel W. Dawson also her oldest sister Tiffany L. Moore and younger sister Damaris M. Dawson. Her surviving family members are her father David H. Dawson and mother Marie A. Dawson following her oldest brother followed by her last living sister, David Roberson, Sharron L. Dawson. Devon C. Young, Rashard D. Young and Donatta D. Young. Lonnae shared so many memories with her family and always reminded us “SHE WAS THE SMARTEST IN THE FAMILY.” When Lonnae found herself tired of her beautiful family she would pack up her laptop and blanket and say “I am going to my room.” Well our Queen has went to her room and received her crown.

We Love You Lonnae Nicole Young
