Louis Charles Belcher

Louis Charles Belcher 61, passed away on February 13, 2017 at St. Lukes Hospice House surrounded by 3 of his children.

Louis was the 5th child born of 10 children with 2 preceding him in death. Born to Johnnie and Almeta Holmes Belcher on November 25, 1955 in Kansas City, MO. Louis was preceded in death by his parents Johnnie and Almeta Belcher, 2 brothers Johnnie Belcher II and Donald E. Belcher.

Louis attended Central High School finishing with a GED and proceeded to serve in the United States Army and completing with an Honorable discharge and full benefits in 1974. Louis worked for Western Electric and the city of Kansas City Water Department and Parks & Recreation, and later at Veterans Hospital.

Louis enjoyed skating, bowling and dancing to the sounds of Elvis Presley and Old School music.

Louis was baptized at an early age and later baptized at Greater Pentecostal Temple. Louis married his High School sweetheart Pamela Whitmire in June 1977. To this union Rekeysha Belcher was born. This union later dissolved. He later married Karen Lewis, with this union also dissolving. Louis then married Diane Jones in 2015. Louis also fathered Maurice Dukes, Jessica Belcher-Yeakey and Mechelle Belcher-Rogers. Louis is survived by Diane Jones-Belcher, one son; Maurice Dukes (Chris), daughters; Rekeysha Belcher-Abdullah (Ibn), Jessica Belcher-Yeakey (Robert) and Mechelle Belcher-Rogers (Eddie), 5 brothers; Johnnie Belcher, KCKS, Joey Belcher, Larone Belcher, Marvin Belcher and Rick Belcher, all of KCMO. Two sisters, Iva Blunt and Anita Osler, KCMO, 10 grandchildren, Lorenzo (Ronnieka), Imani, Ke’Mya, LaRon, Tey’ah, India, Hassani, Eddie, NaKai and Sami’a, 2 great grandchildren Phoenix and Sariyah, an ex-wife Pamela Ashley-McKenzie, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.
