Lucas Long, age 15, of Kansas City, Missouri, was born on May 14, 2010, and tragically passed away on January 8, 2026. Lucas dedicated his life to Christ at a young age and was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God.
Lucas was preceded in death by his father, Lucas Long Sr., his great-grandmothers, Gloria Thomas and Delores Hunter and his cousin Randolph Long.
He is lovingly survived by his mother, Qu’Sha Barbee, Barrington Colley; his sisters JahZiah, Kamira, Kaden, Tanique, Sanique and Jahlyvia; Grandparents, Denyale Smith (Dennis), Leonard Barbee, Robin and Lester Long; aunts Willniya, ChaCoy, Latoya, Leslie, Lizabeth; uncles, Tyran, Lester Jr., Lawrence, and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends who cherished him deeply.
Lucas attended Southeast High School, where he was known for his bright spirit and warm personality. He had a strong passion for basketball and football and was a percussionist for A-Flat Orchestra, Lucas also loved cutting hair, a talent he enjoyed sharing with others. Lucas was funny, respectful, and loving—someone who could light up a room with his smile and laughter. He will always be remembered for his kind heart and the joy he brought to those around him.
Lucas’s life, though far too short, left a lasting impact on everyone who knew and loved him. He will be forever missed and always remembered.
