On Tuesday, December 21, 2021 God called Lynne Patrice Brown home to be with Him. She was the oldest child born to Glenda Kennedy and Theo Johnson on November 11, 1962. Lynne gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined Community Mission Baptist Church. In her early years, Lynne was educated in the Kansas City, MO school District attending Blenheim Elementary and graduating from Southeast High School in 1981. Soon after, Lynne furthered her education at Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas to pursue her dream to become a physician. Working in the medical field was always a passion of Lynne’s and it was fulfilled in the positions she held working in Medical Coding at Swope Ridge Nursing Home and St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Lynne embodied the epitome of self-love. You know the saying, “you look better, you feel better“? From her head down to her pedicured toes, her hair and nails was alway done, makeup was always flawless, and her style was unmatched. She always looked her best! Although she never had children of her own, Lynne was a mother to many. Oftentimes she took her niece, nephews and cousins on different excursions with her. Lynne was a believer in Jesus Christ and strong faith was evidenced by membership and service to the Community Mission Baptist Church which later changed to the name Community Praise Worship and World Outreach Center. She loved singing on the Praise and Worship Team and every now again would lead a song or two. Lynne also taught Sunday School and was an employee at the church’s Career Center where she empowered and assisted ex-felons to reconnect with their community. Lynne was licensed to minister on September 9, 2007 and she was ordained on January 18, 2009. Both services were performed by Pastor Clifford Bell. Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, Theo Johnson and Glenda Kennedy. Those siblings left to remember her in the most fondest of ways are: her brother Tracy Brown, Teddy Johnson, Timothy Johnson and Terrance Johnson all of Kansas City, MO; One sister Alise Bowman of Kansas City, MO; Four nephews Christopher Bowman of St. Louis, MO, Ricky Bowman of Kansas City, MO, Devante Bowman of Kansas City, MO, Bishop Brown of Kansas City, MO; a niece Takeisha Brown of Kansas City MO; Two Aunts; Verma Taylor of Detroit, MI, Cecile Taylor of Kansas City, MO; Two Uncles Dwight (Patrice) Bowman of Lees Summit, MO, Ricky Taylor of Kansas City, MO and a host of relatives and friends.
