Maelee Washington

Maelee Washington, proudly known as Mama and Grammie, was born December 25, 1964, in Kansas City, Missouri to Beulah Mae Washington and Oscar Lee Williams.

Maelee was educated in the public school district of Kansas City, Missouri and received her high school diploma from De La Salle Education Center in 1984.  Having been born with sickle cell, that was a major accomplishment.

In her early years, Maelee was employed at the Hilton Hotel where her mother also worked. She had a career in customer service for Capital One and Texaco gas station. In 2003 she began her career at T-Mobile as a customer service representative where she remained for 8 years before parting ways in 2011.

Maelee was a dedicated member of True Faith Outreach Ministries. She enjoyed services on Sundays and giving back to the community on Wednesdays. She also sung in the choir at her apartment complex.

She enjoyed puzzles and playing bingo in her spare time. Whenever she was around, it was always smiles and fun. She had the biggest heart, caring, loving and always there for whoever needed her.

Maelee departed this life on September 21, 2024.  Her mother and father Beulah Washington and Oscar Williams; sisters, Eva and Jessica Washington; and a special niece, Samantha Mae Cubie, all proceeded her in death.

To cherish her in memory, Maelee leaves behind her daughter, Victoria Washington “Pudda”, grandchildren; Anovia Giles, Trenasia Abernathy, Brooklynn Abernathy “Grammies”, and her grandpups Bella and Max, siblings; Sharon Washington, Sheila Washington, Rickey Washington, Ronald Washington (Margo), Susan Washington, brother – in-law; Louis Watson, stepsister; Denise Collier, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
