Marcel Dyrone Deangeleo Alvarado, 53, passed away on December 13, 2021, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on September 24, 1968, in Kansas City, Missouri to Ronald D. Alvarado and Donna Alvarado. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. Marcel accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church when he was 7 years old. He later joined Spruce St. Matthews Baptist Church. Marcel graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1986.
After high school he joined the Army National Guard in 1990. Sergeant Marcel Alvarado was na active member of the military. He assisted with flood duty in 1993, participated as border patrol in Arizona, and guarded the chemical depot in Oregon. Sgt. Alvarado fought in Afghanistan (2006-2008) before being honorably discharged in 2012. He retired after 23 years of serving his country.
Marcel worked various jobs, but his favorite was driving. Driving across the country gave Marcell contentment while listening to his old school music and seeing the sights. His love for ddriving and traveling began with family vacations. Marcel especially loves taking sibling trips with his sisters. Everyone knew Marcel was a traveler.
Also, he loves being “Papa.” Spending time with his grandbabies was the ultimate fun. Marcel was a faithful Kansas City Chiefs fan, wrestling fan, and SpongeBob fan. He had a big heart with many friends because Marcel did not know a stranger. He welcomes everyone.
He was preceded in death by his son, Marcel Alvarado, Jr.; niece, Denisa Gavel; grandson, Jodale Roe, and father, Ronald Alvarado.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving wife of 24 years, DeShun Alvarado; his dear mother, Donna Alvarado; two sisters, Rhonda Gavel (David) and Rochelle Holmes; seven children, Aaron Moore, Marcus Alvarado, Alvin Alvarado (Audra), Kira Williams, Alexis Alvarado, Walter-Williams-Alvarado (Tyler), and MArShunna Alvarado; 14 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
