Marcus Tyronne Jackson Sr. was born on May 11,1949 to Marian Rosy Smith and Onnie Alfred Jackson Sr. in Kansas City, Kansas. "I'm the Last of the wild geese."

Marcus is preceded into death by both parents, sisters; Shirley Tolbert, and Gloria Lane, brothers; Onnie Jackson Jr, Michael Jackson, Mearl Jackson and Anthony Jackson and his second wife; Teresa Jackson.

Marcus grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and was a devoted Seventh Day Adventist. He graduated from Sumner High School. After graduating he then joined the United States Army. He later moved to Topeka, Kansas and furthered his education at Washburn University to obtain a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing, where he specialized in Geriatrics. For thirty plus years he absolutely enjoyed taking care of his patients. He also loved listening to music, dancing,fishing, and watching westerns.

Marcus had three children with his high school sweetheart, Ms. Carolyn Estell and three kids with his second wife, Teresa Jackson. His third union was to Ms. Marsha Ward, which included two other children whom he considered his own. Marcus is survived by sons; Marcus T. Jackson Jr, William Jackson(Darchelle), and Christopher Jackson, daughters; Dori Price(Jamey), Damieka Union(Sylvester), Teaira Thompson(Steffon) and a honorary daughter; Laureen Woods, one sister; Marian Earskine. He was very close to his three nieces; Sherry Tolbert, Candace Byers, and Nicole Morris Owens, as well as a host of nephews, grand­children, and great grandchildren that will cherish his memories.
