Marie Stovall, 82, departed this life on January 25, 2021 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born on December 9, 1938 in Greensboro, Georgia to Wallace Shelton and Martha Rowland.
She grew up in Greensboro, Georgia and attended Green County Elementary School. At age fifteen Marie left Greensboro, Georgia and moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she attended Lincoln High School.
Marie met the love of her life Homer L. Stovall. She joined him in holy matrimony in 1956. She was happily married for 65 years. They shared six children. She had many hobbies. She loved to travel, cook for Sunday dinners and holidays with her family and friends, and loved going to the casino’s. Marie loved everybody she would open her home to a complete stranger and consider them part of her family. She was loved so much she was given the nickname "Starbush" by a family friend. Marie was the foundation of her family that held everyone together with her beautiful smile and fiesty ways. Marie started her career cleaning homes and doing janitorial work. She later found interest at Tastee Bread as a Packer and retired in 1995 after dedicating 20 years of service. She accepted Christ early she participated in church functions at St. Stephens Baptist Church, and the Daughters of Isis. she became a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church Rev. White Sr.
Marie is preceded in death by her father: Wallace Shelton; her mother: Martha Prueitt; and her husband: Homer L. Stovall
She leaves to cherish her memories her sister: Martha Lou Gordon; her brother: Cleveland Brown, Sr; her children: Angela Woods (Michael), Curtis Stovall, Terry Stovall (Paula), Tyra Stovall, Stephanie Stovall, Yvette Stovall, Michael Stovall, and Donald Chambers; and a special host of grandchildren: LaToya Peterson(Demolia); Brandy Ross(Shawn); Richard Mc Neal; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
