Listen to Obituary

Ms. Marilyn Ann Evans of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016. She was born April 25, 1956 in Rayville, LA to the union of Charlie and Arbella Evans who preceded her in death. One son, Aaron Evans, and two sisters, Alice Evans and Susie Butler, also preceded her in death. Marilyn was a long-time resident of Kansas City, where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Rayville at the age of seven. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age at St. John Missionary Baptist Church by the late Rev. A. Johnson. She later became a member of Southside Christian Center pastored by Royce M. Beckett. Evangel was her last place of worship, pastored by Jason St. John. She faithfully professed the Word of God to all whom she encountered on her journey here on earth. Marilyn graduated from Central High School in 1974. She worked as a nurturing and loving child care provider for many families throughout her life. She shared her love of cooking and crocheting with her loved ones. She enjoyed listening to a variety of gospel music along with having prayer meetings with her children, grandchildren and sister. She leaves to cherish her precious memory; her brothers, Charlie Evans, Jr., and Adrian D. Wells, Sr., one sister, Frankie P. Glenn, three daughters, Tanika L. Evans (Deonica & Deonte), Kesha M. Evans (En'Que & Malik), Karon C. Evans (Ke'Vontae), two Goddaughters, Nakia J. Evans (Markus & Maliyah), Shantel R.
