Listen to Obituary

Mark Mabry departed this life at the age of 58 on Sunday, February 26, 2017.

Mark was born on September 18, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri to Mary Dee Summers and was raised by his step father James Summers. He attended Central High School and later enrolled in Job Corp, to obtain a trade in Wood Shop Design. Mark loved the Lord and was saved later in his adult life. The Miracle Prayer was one of his favorites, and changed his life forever.

“Lord Jesus, I come before you, just as I am. I am sorry for my sins, please forgive me. In Your name, I forgive all others for what they have done against me. I renounce Satan, the evil spirits, and all their works. I give you my entire self. Lord Jesus, I accept. In Jesus Name. Amen.”

Mark had many talents! Gifted hands was his most prestigious gift. He had artistic abilities and could draw and make practically anything out of wood. Dancing was another gift that came easy to Mark, and allowed him to win many Two-Step contests with his lifelong partner (Kay). He loved to sing – one of his favorite songs was “Reasons” by Earth Wind and Fire. Many people would agree that Mark could imitate this song when he was singing solo around the house, being silly with friends and family, or just flirting to show his charm. Before his battle with Sarcoidosis, Mark remolded houses and did other side jobs for a living. Mark will be remembered most for his funny stories and jokes that kept everyone laughing hysterically.

Mark leaves to cherish his memory, his mother; Mary Summers, Daughters; Carealetta Greene (Damon), and Tasha Banks, Lifelong Partner; Nola (Kay) Warmate, Siblings; Ernest Mabry, Peggy Mitcham (Gary), Vincent Norton, Sheri Lynn Jackson (Anthony), Suzette Williams, Step-brothers; Greg Summers (Juanita), Calvin Summers (Carla), James Summers Jr, (Regina), Robert Summers (Deborah) and a host of grandkids, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother; Jerry Mabry and Step-father; James Summers.
