Mark James Phillips, 65, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on April 21, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Born on November 11, 1959, Mark dedicated much of his life to his craftmanship, working as a self-employed carpenter for over 25 years. His creativity and talent were evident in every project he touched. Mark had a deep appreciation for the past, which was reflected in his love for antiques and his extensive record collection. Those who knew him remember his kind and peaceful demeanor.
He is lovingly remembered by his best friend and caregiver, Stephanie Glast; children: Jordan Phillips, Dominique King, Christian King, and Bradley Ragan; honorary stepchildren: Jeremiah McReynolds, Corey Glast, and Chancelor Glast; grandchildren: Dominique King (15), Kamari Ragan (13), Kingston Williams (11), Kingsley Cosby (9), Kairo Cosby (8), Kailynn Ragan (8), Penelope King (7), and Kobe Kearney (3 months); his stepfather, Stuart Herman; sister Kathleen (Phillips) Woods; and nephew Raymond Woods.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, James Leslie Phillips, and his mother, Patricia Jean (Judson) Herman.
