Marlyn " Marla" S. Smith was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 22,1964 to Dessie Morrison and the late Hermon Webb (Bobbie). On Thursday, October 11,2018 an angel carried her to a place that is free from the pains and sorrows of this world, where she is resting peacefully with her Heavenly Father. Marla graduated from Southeast Sr. High School in 1982. After high school she entered the workforce where she cared for others as a CNA caregiver. She met and cared for man people with her contagious smile and big personality. Her residents and coworkers at John Knox Village loved her dearly. Marla was big on family and loved all her family unconditionally. She always strived to see the best in everyone. Some of her favorite things to do was family get-togethers. Occasionally stepping out to cut the dance floor with a little two stepping, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. No matter what was going on, she always had her grandchildren by her side as much as possible. Marla was proceeded in death by her father, Hermon Webb;her maternal grandparents, Counsel Smith and Mary Smith; her paternal grandparents, John Wesley and Idell Webb; brother, Hermon Greenlee; sister, Shandrea Smith; and niece, Shalonda Jackson. She leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Dessie Morrison; stepmother, bobbie Jean Webb; three sons, Rocky Bradley, Marlon Smith, Deundrae Smith (Trisla); five brothers, Herman Webb (Beverly), Mark Webb (Lavern), Aubrey Smith, Richard Samuels. and Archavis Morrison; six sisters, Kimeatha Webb, Audrey Smith, Sherita Webb, Jerri Morrison ( Wiley), Belinda "Rose" Milligan (Kim), and Barbara Smith; nine grandchildren, Deundrae Jr, Price Smith, Madison Hill, Marlon Smith Jr, Kyleigh Smith, Rocky Bradley, Deundrae Marlon Bradley, Shakur Bradley Smith, and Jayvion Ervin; two goddaughters, Mikka Serrant, and Denisha Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
