Listen to Obituary

Martha Della Ransburg entered into this life on February 16, 1947. She was born in Jonestown, Mississippi, the only child to parents Clara & Jessie Jones.  She transitioned to eternal life on October 31, 2019 surrounded by her beloved family.

Martha accepted Christ at an early age.  She was educated in the Kansas City School district and was employed as a picture developer for H&H Color Labs for many years. She met and wed Arthur Lee Ransburg and they remained in the city raising their family.   She was a loving and devoted mother to five sons, an adored grandmother to 32 grandchildren and a beloved great-grandmother of 18 great-grandchildren. Martha’s legacy of love to all of them individually, unconditionally and completely, will always be a cherished and precious memory to each.

Martha truly was the matriarch.  She was a humble and gracious woman with a profound love for her family especially cousins, whom she spoke of as siblings, as she was an only child, and she loved being in their company.   As a young woman Martha loved dancing and playing card games.  Her happiest moments are remembered of her being around her children, grandchildren and her cousins.  Martha loved to listen to music and talking on the phone, conversing with family and friends; she was known as the secret keeper.   Her beautiful laughter and radiant big eyes will truly be missed. Her legacy of love was apparent to anyone that she encountered.  She displayed unmatched thoughtfulness to so many of her children’s friends who fondly named her mom.  She had one of the BIGGEST HEARTS ever.

Martha was preceded in her passage by husband Arthur Ransburg, father, Jessie and mother, Clara Jones. Her son Rodney Wilson, grandson Terrell Myers, maternal grandparents Ira and Wilson Williams, paternal grandparents, loved aunts, cousins and friends who welcomed her into the Kingdom.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children: Dennis Wilson, Lamar E. (Nicole) Ransburg Sr., Brian L. (Erica) Ransburg Sr., Darrell (Keaira) Ransburg Sr., and the daughter that she wished for Sheryll (Rodney) Wilson of Kansas City, Mo.  Friend/cousins - Ann and Margaret, her adored 32 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
