Mary Louise Roberts, 77, passed away on May 4, 2026, at Saint Luke’s Hospice in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on November 26,1948, in Kansas City, Missouri to Sipoah Spotwood and Katherine Jackson.
She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Central High School. She worked for Kansas City Printing Company as a press operator for 5 years or more and worked for UMKC until retiring after 15 years. She was dedicated to a local community church.
She married Harold Roberts in 1971and to this union their first son, Harold Roberts III, was born. They were happily married for 30 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and provided unconditional love to her family. She was never a complainer, even under stressful circumstances. She was truly a woman of God and always kept a smile on her face. She was a good cook in the kitchen, always making sure her family ate together for Sunday dinners. She was loving and kind to anyone she came in contact with.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Sipoah Spotwood; her mother, Katherine Jackson; husband, Harold Roberts Jr.; brothers: Charles Spotwood, Alvin Spotwood; and sister, Francis Spotwood.
She is survived by her sons: Jerald Roberts and Harold Roberts III; her daughter, Deairra Wright; grandsons: Jerrell Hargrove, John Mays, Harold Roberts IV, King Robinson Haynes; granddaughters, Jasmine Roberts, Taylor Roberts, Breairra Everage, Ziiare Wright; sisters, Kim Murphy and Lisa Duncan; brother-in-law, Marvin Duncan, several great-grandchildren; special nieces that she love and adored: Chasna Spotwood, Keturah Spotwood, and Tajeh Spotwood. She also leaves a special childhood friend, Donna Jo Johnson.
