Mattie B. Dixon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She entered the sunset on November 20, 2021 in Kansas City, Missouri. Mattie was born on November 18, 1933 to Prentis Kye and Vanilla Sarah Jane Kye. Mattie graduated from M & I High School in Macon, Mississippi. She was married to Ostell Dixon until he passed away in 2011.

Mrs. Dixon was involved in her church New Macedonia Church, where she was an active usher and a part of the church Women’s Group. Mattie also enjoyed singing and crafting.

Mattie was preceded into death by her parents Prentis Kye and Vanilla Sarah Jane Kye; her husband Ostell Dixon; her daughter, Olevia Deborah Dixon- Barnes; sisters, Dorothy Freelove Granger, Lucille Ruth Beamon, Emma Lee Hyde, Annie Dell Patterson, and Janie B. Jenkins.

Mattie leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Joyce Silvers (Kirt Silvers); sons, Ostell Dixon, Stephen Michael Dixon; her grandsons, Travis LeDale Silvers (Adrienne), William Michael Barnes, Sommari Muwwakkil; granddaughters, Christina Mitchell, Alexis Dixon, Ashlyn Dixon, and Sonya Silvers; and a host of family and friends.
