Maxine F. Harris

Maxine F. Harris, 92, passed away on December 24, 2021. She was born on, September 9, 1929, in Denison, TX to John Timothy Fennell and Thelma Cherry Fennell. She grew up in Denison, TX where she graduated from Terrell High School. After high school she attended Bishop College in Marshall, TX where was an English major. She began work for the Drapery Manufactory Company as a supervisor, where she worked for 10 years.

She was married to Arthur Harris, Jr. on June 20, 1950, in Kansas City, MO. They were happily married for 62 years.

She is preceded in death by her father, Rev. John T. Fennell; mother, Thelma C. Fennell; siblings, Charlene Herod, Bessie Hughes, Jerlean Coffey, and John W. Fennell; son, Nathaniel Harris, Jr.; and granddaughter, Robin C. Taylor.

She is survived by her children, Constance F. Tate, Wanda J. Neal (Bishop John Neal), and Sheri D. Levingston; daughter-in-law, Athenia Harris; grandchildren, Leslie Shephard (Edward), Elijah Shephard, Sidney Turner, Tyler Campbell, Nathaniel Harris, Harmon Harris, Arthur Harris III, and Geneva Harris; and a host of other family members.
