Michael Littlejohn

Everybody loved Michael Ray Littlejohn and Michael loved his family and friends equally as much. Michael was that person you wanted to meet when you felt like being on top of the world or just deep down sad. He was that special person that would listen to you and make you feel heard, acknowledged, and valuable. Michael was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 9, 1956 to Ruth and Ray Littlejohn. He was the youngest of the family and was lovingly raised by Ruth and Robert Alexander and his 4 older siblings.  He must have felt very protected and became the wonderful adult everyone would quickly know as Mike. Michael had the ear to listen whenever someone needed to talk. He dropped everything to give a ride to the grocery store. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. After his graduation from Manual High School, Michael joined the US Air Force. With the USAF, he stayed for many years in Europe and always talked fondly about his experiences in England and Greece. After returning to the United States, he completed his College Degree in Computer Operations in Colorado and after successful careers in Los Angeles and Denver he returned to Kansas City, where he purchased a wonderful home when he started his own family with his partner Anke and became a proud dad; the dad of “the best 2 children of this universe: Anna & Jordan.” In his spare time, Michael cared for his beautiful garden with a special love for his roses and lilies. In the summer, we could see Michael get the smoker out and cook up a week’s worth of barbecue, always sharing with family and friends. In the Fall, he enjoyed nothing more than the Kansas City Chiefs and his Fantasy Football Team buddies where he was proudly known as SmooveGroove. Michael’s memory will be deeply cherished by Anke and their two children Anna and Jordan, his brother Richard Harding (Mattie) of Henderson, Nevada, his three sisters  Carmen Shinault, Sharon Hill and Carol Thompson (John) all of Kansas City, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and caring relatives and friends. Michael, Rest in Peace! We love you. We miss you. Your goodness will live on in this world through the people you touched. We will heed your advice: “Remember the Good Times!”
