Michael Logan

Michael Martin Logan was born February 10, 1949 to Edward and Hattie A. Logan, Sr. He was the third child to be born out of seven. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dorla J Logan (Jay); step­ daughter, Deneen L. Calhoun (Tyke); father, Edward Logan Sr.; two brothers, Edward Logan Jr. and Arron Logan; and grandparents.

Michael was educated in the Kansas City school district. He served in the U S Army during Vietnam War. After two tours of duty he received an honorable discharge. After returning from the service Michael developed a love for riding motorcycles. This was one of his favorite things to do. Michael worked for many companies, his favorite being KCATA. He started as a bus driver and ended as a head mechanic.

On September 5, 1973, he was united in marriage to Dorla J. Shephard. Unto this union two daughters were born and two step-daughters of his wife. Michael accepted Christ with his wife at Joy Fellowship A. O.G. Church.

He departed this life April 23, 2017, at the VA Hospital, Kansas City, MO.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Dorla J Shephard-Logan; mother, Hattie A. Logan; daughter, Micale M. Logan-Russell; step-daughter, Marquita R. Calhoun-Mack (Michael); brothers, Kenneth Logan (Paula) and George Logan (Victoria); sisters, DiAnna Richardson and Aurita Clement (Fred); special niece Michelle Logan-Dailey; two grandsons, Drakkar Thompson (Rebecca) and Dereyon Logan; granddaughter, Ragen Finnell; one great-grandson, lzaiah Thompson; a very special couple Mr. and Mrs. Eddie L. Woods plus a host of niece, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
