Michael L. Mize

Michael Mize, age 64, passed away on June1, 2022 in Kansas City, Mo.  Michael was born of the union of Vernon L. (Bunny) Taylor and Chaunceyetta Mize.  Michael was raised up in Kansas City, Mo., attending St. Monica/St. Joseph Elementary School and graduating from Lincoln High School.

After graduation, Michael attended Guadalupe Culinary School in Kansas City.  Michael worked for Meyer Lumber and Frederick Machinery.

Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Chauncey and Mary Magdalene Downs; father, Vernon L. Taylor; stepfathers, Ronald Mize and Leroy Walker, and son Michael Hawkins.

He is survived by his mother, Chaunceyetta Downs Mize, son, Marcus Mitchell; brothers, Derrick (Ricky) Mize, Ronald (Flip) Mize, Jr., sister, Kimberly Mize, Camilla (Cammie) Walker, all of Kansas City, Mo.; brother, Bruce Davis, Minneapolis, Minnesota; sisters, Tina Harrison, Ontario, California; Kathy Lewis (Curtis), Lisa McLeod, and Deborah Poe, all of Dallas, Texas; granddaughters Ivory Hawkins and Tashia Hawkins, both of Fort Smith Arkansas and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives.
