Michael Thomas

Michael Andrew Thomas was born May 23, 1990, and passed away peacefully on May 28, 2021. He was the fourth child of Diana Thomas and the second child of Gregory Gilbert. Michael spent all his life in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Northeast High School in 2008. After graduation, he paused a career working with his hands as a laborer.

In 2008, he met and started a relationship with Shaklyah Thomas. They dated for six years before starting a family. Shaklyah has a son from a previous relationship that Michael welcomed in his arms. Michael and Shaklyah were also blessed to have three beautiful daughters together. He was a great husband and father, a wonderful son and an awesome uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Michael was a family man for sure. He always spent time with kids, with all of his nieces and nephews. He valued family and friends, and we will miss that the most. He was loved by everyone, the sweetest soul.

Michael left behind his wife: Shaklyah Thomas; one son: Hanif Thomas; three daughters: Saadiyah Thomas, Saaniyah Thomas, and Isha Thomas; his mother: Diana Thomas; his father: Gregory Gilbert; two sisters: Nicole Thomas, and Denise Gilbert; and an older brother: Darin Thomas. He also left behind a host of aunts and uncles, cousins he loved, and a host of nieces and nephews.
