An uncommon heart. A fearless spirit. A devoted mother.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Michelle loved fiercely — her family, her community, and her Kansas City Chiefs. She led with love, laughed boldly, and gave selflessly. Her presence shifted rooms, and her joy filled them.
A proud graduate of the Kansas City School District and Penn Valley Community College, Michelle built a career defined by excellence and service. She worked with DST, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, United Health Group, and most recently the Kansas City Water and Health Departments. Whether serving as a Claims Specialist, Process Analyst, Supervisor, or administrator with the Key Coalition, Michelle led naturally and took pride in connecting people with the resources they needed.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Dominick Clark; her parents, Leon and Karen Slaughter; her Grandmother, Ruby Berry; her siblings LeeAnne Slaughter, Leon (Lisa) Slaughter, Jr., Tiffany (Stanley) Makupson, Vanessa (Herbie) Lewis, Wayne (Kristen) Mason, Jr., and Victoria (Doug) Henderson; her aunts Sharon (James) Thompson, Cassandra (Dwayne) Jones, Jennie (Arnette) Alexander, and Nadine Farris; her cherished nieces and nephews Michael Revels, Jr., Randolph ‘Von’ LaBarrie, Raven LaBarrie, Mykalia Mason, Myles Mason, Mayes Mason, Kirk ‘Tre’ Delaney III, Colton Makupson, Kennedy Makupson, Gianni Henderson, Alani Henderson, Sha’Juan (Kelvin) Alexander, Herbie Lewis Jr., Jalen (Cierra) Lewis, and Laya Slaughter; and a host of extended family members, dear friends, and colleagues.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father Rodj Farris, paternal grandmother Dolly N. Sargent, maternal grandparents Rev. Dr. D.L. & Daisy O’Neal, grandfather Ivory Berry, great-grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Willie Lee Clark, Sr., and her aunt Jacqueline Clark.
Her legacy lives in the bonds she strengthened and the love she gave without measure.
