Mildred Louise Foster Graves was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina to Howard Foster Sr. and Josephine Haney Foster on August 24, 1947. She graduated from Spartanburg High School. When Mildred was 18 years old, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri.
During her prime years, she gave birth to her one and only child, Hamish Howard. He was the love of her life and one of her greatest joys! Mildred worked as an operator in the manufacturer plant at Bayer Health and Science. She retired after 37 years of service.
She is known as one of the founding members of St. Matthew AME Zion Church here in Kansas City, Missouri.
Later in life, Mildred met her life partner, Ricardo Green. They formed a bond like no other. During her last years, Ricardo was dedicated to taking care of her. Ricardo loved Mildred dearly. She was preceded in death by her son, Hamish Howard; father, Howard Foster Sr.; mother, Josephine Haney Foster; sister, Josephine Foster; brothers: Hosea Foster, T. Foster, Jr., and Albert J Foster.
Mildred is survived by her life partner, Ricardo Green; brother, Charles T. Foster; grandchildren: Miles Howard, Jordan Owens, and Brittany Brown; daughter-in-law, Bridgett McDaniels; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
