Mother Thelma Marie Robinson

Thelma Marie Williams Robinson was born in Parsons, Kansas on September 3,1927 with an unending winning smile, to the marital union of Madeline and Emmet Williams Sr. Her parents preceded her in death along with her oldest sister Helen Butler and youngest brother Donald C. Williams Sr. She was educated in the Parsons, Kansas school system and later transferred and graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas. Thelma was a P.K. child and accepted Christ at an early age and remained faithful until her call to eternity. She joined Memorial Church International under the leadership of Apostle Larry B. Aiken and Pastor Olivia Aiken. She served on the Mother Board, sang in the choir and was a faithful warrior of the Victory Call Line. A chance encounter at a gas station brought Thelma together with Earl Robinson and loved blossomed on April 12, 1947; they eloped and was united in marriage in Olathe, Kansas. To this union "nine" children were born, "two" sons, Anthony (Tony) and Earl (Ronnie) preceded her in death. Thelma displayed great love to her family and all that knew her. Her legacy leaves many memorable accomplishments behind. She was a lead participator in the formation of Welfare Rights, representative for the Model City Foundation and account spokesperson, who met with "Lady Bird Johnson". She was instrumental in initiating the origination of the Head Start Program. She was a personal host facilitator for intern student teachers who rallied untiringly for better school promotions and quality education. Thelma was an active role model in the disbandment of street gang activity. Thelma also served as chief cook for the Missouri State Head Start Program later becoming a teacher's aide. A treasured historical legacy that Thelma experienced was when she was invited, included and seated in the presence of President Barack and Mrs. Michelle Obama during their campaign trail in 2008. In addition to this host of accomplishments in 2014 Thelma was sought out, interview, and featured in a documentary entitled "Sumner High School The Best Kept Secret." Thelma's legacy of wisdom words were, "IAM BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED AND SO ARE YOU!" Thelma leaves to cherish her memory "three" sons, Everett Robinson (Arvonia) KCKS, Adrian Robinson KCMO, Bryon Robinson (Tillonni) Arlington, TX; "Four Daughters" Donna Reynolds (Bruce) Raytown, MO, Pamela Pierce (Calvin) Lee's Summit, Mo. Noreen Robinson (Wayne) KCKS, Terri Ann Riddlespriger (Lonnie). "One" Brother Emmett Williams Jr.(Hellene) KCKS, "One" Sister, Kathleen Harmon San Diego, California, "19" Grandchildren, "52" Great Grandchildren, "11" Great Great Grandchildren and a Host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
