Msmarva Davis also known as "Marvene" departed this life on December 7, 2016. She was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Mo. She was the eldest child of Elder Albert & Frances Davis. She was an avid learner and excelled at all she pursued including classical violin. She was a member of the girl scouts, earning all available merit badges. She was an avid writer winning a writing contest and being featured in Folgers magazine. She was a member of the Davis Four singing group. She graduated from Manuel High School. She was a Sunday School teacher at Step Out on Faith under the leadership of Elder Albert Davis. She was married and had 2 children. Msmarva touched the lives of a lot of children in her lifetime, children that she loved including but not limited to Deonie Pooh, Gator, Man Man, Tumbleweed, Gizmo, Fat Baby, Metri, Dana, Tae, Drena, Teresa, Cricket, PJ, Vernon, TC, Teressa, Akeelah, Kasanova, Taje', Carlos, Jazz, Dominique, Rell, Korri, TJ, Desi, Paris, Javion, Boogie, Dalton, Diego, Domingo, Carla, Kasey. She worked as a substitute teacher with the Kansas City Missouri School District. She worked at Children's Mercy Hospital and Southwestern Bell Telephone. She worked as a pharmacy tech before retiring from Truman Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her son Howard Ray Allen III and her father Elder Albert Davis. She is survived by her mother Frances Davis; her daughter Shalissa Minnenhall (Charles); 3 grandchildren, Anthony Minnenhall, Chalise Minnenhall, & Ashanti Minnenhall; 2 great- grandchildren, Anthony "AJ" Jr. & Jordyn ; several brothers, a sister and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends.
