Listen to Obituary

Naomi Williams was born June 13, 1923, in Bolivar Tennessee to the union of Fred Wood and Bertha Osler-Wood. She married Johnnie Williams on July 30, 1947 in Mound City, Illinois. They were happily married for 35 years. To this union twelve children were born. Her parents and husband Johnnie Williams preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by four kids, two sisters, five step-children and three grand- children.

She accepted Christ at an early age. She served in the choir, Sunday School and vacation Bible School. As a homemaker, a wife, a mother and grandmother, she was strong, capable and tireless, always striving to make everything better for everyone around her.

She enjoyed Gardening she would compete with her son Nate to see who could grow the best tomatoes. Cleaning even with a house full of grandkids her home was always clean. Cooking she used to put together fish fries every weekend. Walking with the grandkids or alone is what we believe kept her so healthy and strong she would walk every day when she was able. Traveling if there was a road trip out of town you could count her in.

Naomi was never a big complainer she was always happy and looked to a better future. She always saw the good in every person in any situation. Naomi loved to cook, dance, laugh and tell jokes. She also loved to dress up, go to Church and Read her Bible. She believed in forgiving others and keeping the family together.

Naomi departed this life on September 21, 2018.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories; Her children all of Kansas City, Missouri; Napoleon /Mary, Robert, Marie /James, Johnnie, Nathaniel, Jerome/Michelle, Orlando, Katie/Urail., Sadie, Charles, Kevin, Willie, a host of grandchildren; great and great-great grandchildren, cousins and friends.

Naomi gave a lot to many, to her friends, by volunteering at Church for many years, but by far she gave the most to her grandchildren, and to her children. As she held all of us in her heart, she will live in a special place in all of our hearts forever, as an extraordinarily loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. May God Bless Momma/Grandma.
