Nicholas Antonio Ellingburg Nicholas "Big Nick" Ellingburg was born August 15, 1979 in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life on Friday November, 27, 2015 in Kansas City, Missouri. His Grandmother Clara Lee Ellingburg and Great - Grandmother Geneva Poole of Paris Arkansas and Uncle Lonnie Ellingburg preceded him in death. Nick accepted Christ at an early age at True Vine MB Church. He was a graduate of Southeast High School and also attended Culinary Arts School for a brief moment. During that time he maintained steady employment as a doorman at multiple clubs such as, GQ's & Jamaican G's, moving from there to head doorman at Club Life. Nick also toured with the label Strange Music as Tech N9ne's personal body guard from 2001 to 2007. From the beginning, Nick set an exemplary example of what a personal security should be, with extensive touring, doing 150+ shows a year. Big Nick, made a reputation and his presence was felt nationwide. Big Nick was more than just security guard he was a fixture in the growth in Strange Music. While still with Strange Music and other national recording artist, nick began his own Security Company, TUE Lions Consultants in 2005, with longtime friends Fred Randall, Woody Woodruff and, Marques Simmons. In 2007, nick would go on to restructure the company alongside Marques re-naming it Lions Protective Services. They went on to employ 42 employees that covered all the facets of the security from crowd control to doormen & armed guards with continued success until 2010. At that time Nick took over head of security duties at several Kansas City establishments, including, Macs Lounge, Gerry's Silver Slipper and Karma and Zen/ Aura. He then became GM at Macs Lounge in 2013, where he remained in that position for 6 months. Nicholas Ellingburg, Lovingly known as "Big Nick", was literally just that. He had an affinity for being the life of any party with a joke always locked, loaded, and waiting for ANYBODY, and for a shoe size 15 wearing man, Nick had a mean shoe game! His passions in life included first and foremost God and his family, followed closely by cooking, traveling and being an avid domino player. Nick also had a deep passion for fire arms and had recently began seriously exploring gunsmithing as the next chapter in his already accomplished Life. More- so Nick served as an integral key in the upbringing in all of his nieces and nephews lives, and that, he took great pride in. Nick leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother Celestine Ellingburg, his father Samuel Johnson from Detroit, Michigan, Grandpa Edmond Ellingburg, one brother Edward (Shelia) Ellingburg; three nieces, Miesha Flower, Aleyia Ellingburg, and Shar'Da Ellingburg; three nephews, Sedric Jones, Kywan Collins & Davontai Ellingburg; two very close friends Marques Simmons & Sean C. Houcks and a host of uncles, aunts cousins, and many many friends. Services will be held 11:00am visitation 9-11:00am Saturday 12-05-15 at Memorial Church International 11424 Hickman Mills Drive.
